With joystick event processing disabled you will have to update joystick states with \fI\fBSDL_JoystickUpdate\fP\fR and read the joystick information manually\&. \fBstate\fR is either \fBSDL_QUERY\fP, \fBSDL_ENABLE\fP or \fBSDL_IGNORE\fP\&.
